The new Western Experience Summer Festival has chosen its new ‘home’: the magnifi-
cent grounds of Equestrian Centre Deurne will be the setting of the coziest outdoor
western festival. On July 22nd and 23rd the doors will open to a world of music, horse-
riding, food, dance, market stalls and outdoor activities – all staged around the
‘Western’ theme. Both indoors and outdoors the Western Experience Summer Festival
offers fun for the entire family.
About the festival
For 23 consecutive years, the Western Experience has played hosts to fans in January.
In 2017, the winter edition gets a sunny sibling: The Western Experience Summer Fes-
tival enriches the summer season with a county fair in western style. It’s set for Satur-
day July 22nd and Sunday 23rd at the wonderful estate of the Equestrian Centre Deur-
ne.
Festival Director Ivo van der Bijl explains: “It’s a new festival but with a rich history.
The Western Experience winter edition at the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch boasts a his-
tory of nearly a quarter of a century. And after seeing continuous growth in the last 3
years, we recognized the wish from our audience for an additional family-friendly sum-
mer edition. So, when the Equestrian Centre Deurne became a possible location it was
very easy to decide on.“ The magnificent grounds, measuring 40 acres, offers many new
opportunities for a summer festival with its familiar friendly atmosphere. The Western
Experience Summer Festival won’t be a direct copy of the winter-edition: ”First, we
plan more than three-quarters of all activities outdoors. For example, there’s plenty of
